Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County Women Build

More than 200 women joined forces for the Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County Women Build project over three days leading up to Mother’s Day. The women volunteers collectively raised more than $270,000 to underwrite the materials used in the Delray Beach home being built for a mother-daughter duo. Ilomane, a housekeeper at a senior living community, and her daughter, Jessie, an oncology nurse, qualified for a zero-interest mortgage for the home through the agency’s Partner Family program. They worked alongside the women builders and put in over 500 hours of sweat equity paying it forward by building on other families’ homes. Habitat provides financial literacy and homeowner maintenance classes.
